Why Freedom
Why use Freedom to change your drinking?
Freedom brings your alcohol-free days, practical exercises and support into one app. It is for adults who want a place to record what is happening, prepare for difficult moments and work on changing their drinking habits.
When it could be useful
You may already know why you want to change your drinking. The harder question can be what to do on an ordinary evening, or how to keep a record when one day feels very different from the next. Freedom gives you several ways to work on that.
- You want to record alcohol-free days and keep a calendar you can correct.
- You want a short, guided activity to open when an urge appears.
- You want to notice familiar triggers and write down another response.
- You want to send a private message without posting your question in a group.
What using it can look like
Here is an example of how the tools fit together. It describes a possible routine, not a customer story or a promised result.
Record the day
Open Today, record whether you drank and look back at your calendar. If you made a mistake, correct the entry. The record should reflect what happened.
Prepare for a familiar moment
Use a habit lesson to think about a situation associated with drinking. Your lesson answers and reflection notes stay on your device.
Have an activity ready
Open Support for guided breathing, a grounding exercise or an untimed focus task. Finishing an exercise marks its completion; it does not measure whether a craving has passed.
Ask for support
Send a private text or voice message to a human mentor, or participate in a community conversation. Replies depend on availability. You do not need to share the same information in both places.
Keep more than a streak in view
A counter is useful, but it is only one view of your records. Freedom also has a calendar, estimated savings, wellbeing entries and time-based health checkpoints. Those records answer different questions.
Savings estimates use your reported spending and recorded days; they are not bank transactions. Wellbeing entries reflect what you report. Health checkpoints mark time and offer educational context; they do not test your liver, measure recovery or diagnose a condition.
Choose where a conversation belongs
Reflection notes and lesson answers stay on your device. Account progress and messages are stored separately on the server. Authorized support staff can access mentor conversations.
Community posts are visible to other members. Anonymous posting hides your profile from those members, but the contribution remains linked to your account for SK LABS. The feed includes member contributions and AI-generated posts and replies. A private mentor conversation is a separate channel.
Built from practical mentoring experience
Szymon Kustra created Freedom after helping people in Poland as a mentor. The app brings that practical direction into a product you can return to between conversations: recording days, preparing for difficult moments and keeping support within reach.
Decide with clear expectations
Freedom is a subscription self-help app, not medical treatment. It cannot assess whether stopping alcohol is safe for you, manage withdrawal or provide emergency care. If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, seek medical advice before changing your drinking.
Membership prices and any eligible trial appear before purchase. Human mentor replies have no guaranteed response time. Additional mentor or therapist contact may involve separate fees; check the terms shown for that service.
If you are comparing options, start with what you need: a simple counter, clinical care, a group, private conversation or several practical tools together. Our comparison explains differences between products and is written by the team behind Freedom.

Common questions
Can I use Freedom if I am cutting back rather than quitting?
Freedom supports goals that include cutting back, quitting or taking a break. The app does not decide which goal is medically appropriate for you. Discuss that decision with a healthcare professional if you may be dependent on alcohol or have health concerns.
Do I have to post in the community?
No. You can use tracking and exercises without publishing a community post. Private mentor messaging is separate from the feed.
Has Freedom been proven to treat alcohol use disorder?
We do not claim that Freedom has been clinically proven to treat alcohol use disorder. Sources about alcohol, coping techniques or screening tools do not establish the app’s effectiveness. Our evidence page explains those distinctions.
