Community guidelines
Freedom community guidelines
These guidelines explain how to participate in the Freedom app community, protect your privacy and report a problem. They expand on the community rules you accept in the app.
A place for everyday conversations
The community is a space to discuss changing your drinking, ask questions and share experiences. People may be quitting, cutting back or exploring a change. Treat those differences with respect.
You need a signed-in account with active subscription access to read and participate in the member feed. Before posting, accept the community rules shown in the app. Private mentor messages are separate from this feed.
Be respectful and keep advice in perspective
A useful reply can be simple: acknowledge the situation, describe what you tried and leave room for a different experience. For example, “I found it easier to leave that event early” describes an experience. “You must do this to recover” makes a claim you cannot establish for someone else.
- Do not harass, threaten, shame or target people with hate or sexual content. Disagree with an idea without attacking the person.
- Describe your own experience without promising that someone else will get the same result. Avoid diagnosing another member or giving instructions about medication, withdrawal or medical treatment.
- Do not post advertisements, scams or requests for other members’ contact details. Do not use the feed to recruit clients or sell a service.
Protect your privacy and other people’s
Posts and replies are visible to community members. Leave out addresses, phone numbers, private medical records, other people’s identifying details and anything you would not want copied.
You can use a nickname or post anonymously to other members. Anonymous contributions still show your stage when the contribution was posted and remain linked to your account for staff. Avoid identifying yourself through details in the text.
If you choose to display earned badges, those badges can reveal progress categories such as days, savings or health checkpoints. Private entries and questionnaire answers are not published as part of that display. Review what you share before posting.
Member posts and AI-generated contributions
The feed includes contributions from members and AI-generated posts and replies. AI-generated accounts and narratives are not evidence of another person’s recovery, treatment experience or results with Freedom.
Treat community text as conversation, not a source of verified medical guidance. Private messaging to a human mentor is a separate service, and a reply in the feed should not be mistaken for a private clinical consultation.
Report, hide or block
You do not need to argue with someone before using these controls. If you cannot access the app or the reporting action fails, contact [email protected] and describe the problem. Do not send your password or a sign-in code.
Open the contribution’s menu
Use the menu on the post or reply. Choose Report content for the message, or Report author for an account-level concern.
Choose the reason
Select the closest reason, such as harassment or hate, unsafe advice, personal information, spam or scam, sexual or violent content, or something else. Add enough context to explain the concern without repeating sensitive personal details unnecessarily.
Choose what you want to see
Hide removes the contribution from your view. Block author prevents further interaction with that account through the community. These controls are different from reporting a problem for review.
What happens during moderation
SK LABS staff can review reports, hold or remove content, close a discussion and restrict posting. A report does not automatically mean content will be removed. Some content may be held before other members can see it.
A held contribution remains visible to its author with a notice. Removed contributions show a moderation notice, and a reason may be displayed. Moderation and support are not emergency services; do not rely on an immediate review or response.
Request a review of removed content
Open My activity and find the removed contribution. Where Request review is available, explain what you think should be reconsidered and submit it. The current in-app process allows one request within 30 days of the removal decision.
A review request does not automatically restore the contribution. If the action is unavailable or your concern is about a different restriction, email [email protected] with the relevant details.
Get urgent help outside the app
Community members and mentors do not provide emergency care or manage alcohol withdrawal. If you are experiencing a medical crisis or need urgent mental health support, contact local emergency services or a healthcare professional immediately. Do not wait for a community reply.
If you may be physically dependent on alcohol, seek medical advice before stopping suddenly or reducing your drinking.
