Help with Freedom

The Freedom help center explains how to manage your account, subscription, daily records and app settings. Choose a topic below, or use the troubleshooting guide if something fails or looks wrong.

How do I sign in to my Freedom account?

Freedom supports Apple, Google and one-time email codes. There is no Freedom password to reset. Use the sign-in method and identity you used before when returning to your saved account. Read the account acceptance text and select its checkbox before continuing.

For email sign-in, check the address you entered and open the message containing your code. Enter it in the app. If the code expires, request another through the sign-in screen. Your My account screen displays the account email, when available, so you can check which account is open.

Your Freedom account and your store account serve different purposes. The app account holds your supported saved records. The Apple or Google account used for a purchase holds the store subscription. They do not have to use the same email address.

How do I manage or restore a subscription?

Open My account and choose Manage subscription to reach subscription management. Review the plan, renewal date and status in the store that billed you. Use Restore purchases when an existing purchase needs to be recognized by the app. Restoring access is separate from signing in to your saved Freedom account.

On iPhone, you can also open Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, then select Freedom. To stop renewal, choose Cancel Subscription and follow the displayed instructions. On Android, open your subscriptions in Google Play, select Freedom and choose Cancel subscription.

Check the store confirmation after making a change. Signing out, removing the app or requesting account deletion is not a subscription-cancellation request. For a missing purchase or an ownership error, follow the troubleshooting steps before buying another subscription.

How do I record a day or correct an entry?

Today is the place for your daily record. The counter uses your recorded last-drink time. If the app asks for your starting point, enter the date and time there; an approximate time is acceptable when you do not remember exactly.

To correct a daily record, open Progress and its calendar, then tap the relevant day. Choose No alcohol or I had alcohol, check the last-drink time where applicable, and save. A record for today describes today so far. Check the date before saving, especially when opening a reminder about yesterday.

Changing a day can affect the counter and related progress. An empty day is not the same as a confirmed alcohol-free day. If the original starting point is wrong and the required date is outside the editable calendar, contact support with the date you intended to record.

How do I check my savings estimate?

In Progress, open savings and choose Edit drinks to review the quantities behind your usual spending estimate. Record alcohol spending on the relevant calendar day when you know it. Leave an unknown amount blank; entering zero means you spent nothing.

Savings are estimates based on your inputs and the app’s calculation. A future projection assumes no future alcohol spending. It is not a bank balance or a promise of money saved. Check the country and currency as well as your drink quantities if an amount seems unfamiliar. Changing the display language does not select a different pricing country.

How do I set a daily reminder?

Go to My account, then Daily reminder, to choose a time and your note. Save the reminder and allow notifications when your phone asks. A saved reminder preference and the phone’s notification permission are separate settings; both matter for delivery.

A morning reminder before noon asks about yesterday. From noon onward it asks about today. Read the date in the record you open rather than assuming every notification refers to the current day.

How do I send a private mentor message?

Open Support and Chat with a mentor. Read the terms and agree before your first message under the current terms. You can write a text message or record and review a voice message before sending. Check the context-sharing option if you want to change what accompanies your message.

This is an asynchronous conversation with human support. Replies depend on staff availability; there is no guaranteed response time. Messages are linked to your account and accessible to authorized support staff. For an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services instead of waiting for a chat reply.

Where can I manage my data or contact support?

My account includes Analytics and app improvement, the privacy policy, Contact us and account deletion. Turning off analytics stops that analytics collection on this device; it does not delete previously sent data or turn off the connections needed for app functions.

Lesson answers and reflection notes are stored on your device, while supported account records and mentor messages are stored separately on the service. Do not assume every item will transfer to a new phone. Read the deletion instructions before submitting an account-deletion request, and manage any store renewal separately.

Quick answers about your account and subscription

Do my Freedom account and store account need the same email?

No. Your Freedom account identifies your saved app records, while the Apple or Google account used for payment holds the subscription. Keep track of both when signing in or restoring a purchase.

Does deleting Freedom cancel my subscription?

No. Removing the app or requesting account deletion does not cancel store renewal. Manage the subscription through the Apple or Google account that paid for it and check the store confirmation.

Will all my notes transfer to a new phone?

No. Lesson answers and reflection notes are stored on your device. Supported account records and mentor messages are stored separately on the service. Keep the original device and do not assume that signing in restores every local item.
